With 420 employees, 9 branches, total assets of 3 billion euros and 50% market share, Sparkasse UnnaKamen is the leading financial institution in the North Rhine-Westphalian region. Due to constantly growing customer demands for digital services, the company was able to increase the number of online banking users to 63% and the use of their app by 22%. Expectations for digital offerings are constantly growing. The company is proactively addressing this trend and promoting digital customer communication.
Because more and more readers read online — on PCs at work, on their smartphones on the go, or on their tablet at home — digital opportunities have become more and more the focus of the editorial team.
A digital and particularly flexible solution for the annual sustainability report was required, which would meet the requirements of sustainability and avoid paper and retain the completed magazine character (no blog, etc.). With Webmag, an interactive, digital format was created in which videos, call-to-action buttons and feedback channels can be integrated. Thanks to full-service creation, internal resource costs remain low — but small changes can still be carried out yourself at any time. The report is published via a Sparkasse subdomain, which makes it possible to identify the Sparkasse website, but does not allow access to data. With an integrated solution for cookie banners and comprehensive settings options on the reader side, the report is 100% GDPR-compliant.
Andreas Schlüter from Sparkasse UnnaKamen: “We sent the digital sustainability report to 30,000 subscribers and received great feedback from our customers, management and other Sparkasse branches. With the web-only edition of the sustainability report, we save tons of paper and thus help to protect the climate and save CO2 ourselves when reporting. In addition, the interactive report looks great and we can share it via Facebook and Instagram and use feedback channels for readers. I think we are on a pioneering path here and can only recommend a similar implementation to other savings banks. We particularly liked the really pleasant and determined collaboration with the Webmag team, which implemented all our wishes in a very short time. We are looking forward to a long-term collaboration on the digitization of our publications.”
