We are the Munich-based tech start-up Webmag. With software solutions and appropriate services, we help companies across Europe communicate digitally.

From agency to software — and to the idea of using content smarter

What hardly anyone knows anymore: Webmag was originally an agency project: Before founding it, we designed digital magazines as commissioned work for companies — extensively produced, readable on the go, but often technically challenging because each issue was custom-made — and in addition to money, this costs a lot of time that is not available in fast-paced online communication.

What struck us: Although there were editors for websites and landing pages, blog systems and various Wordpress templates, there was no easily accessible content format that was really designed to present content digitally and as a magazine. And certainly not for targeted use in marketing.

So we started developing our own software — first to make life easier for ourselves. The result was more than an internal tool: an intuitive system that allowed us to publish interactive content in just a few minutes. So intuitive that at some point we asked ourselves: What do we actually still need us for?

Today, Webmag is a platform that enables users to do what we missed: to get digital content off the ground quickly, adapt it flexibly without having to activate the web agency every time — and to use it for specific marketing goals in a mix with social media and analytics. In other words, not as a sad PDF attachment — but as an active touchpoint in the customer journey with concrete benefits.

Our team is now focused on to empower other teams: With strong onboarding, templates tailored to marketing performance and intuitive software that is made for B2B users and leaves nothing to be desired.
