Eissportverein Zug is a Swiss ice hockey club from Zug that plays in the National League. With the digital version of his match flyer ICE AGE, he is setting new standards for fan engagement and the stadium experience.

Challenge

The EVZ stands for innovation and progress — both on the ice and in communication with its fans. The traditional, printed match flyer EISZEIT was informative but no longer up to date. Print media offer only limited opportunities for interaction and require high production and distribution costs. At the same time, the demand for digital, interactive content that can be kept flexible and up to date is increasing.

The goal was to create a digital format optimized for mobile devices that would intensify fan engagement and enrich the stadium experience with modern features.

Solution

In Collaboration with Webmag, the EISZEIT Match Flyer was completely digitized and redesigned as an interactive online magazine. Using the Webmag Editor, a responsive template was created that seamlessly integrates into the EVZ digital ecosystem.

Fans can now access the digital match flyer directly in the Bossard Arena via QR Codes. There, they can expect up-to-date content, interactive elements, exclusive background information and multimedia features such as videos and live statistics.

A particular advantage of this solution: Changes and news can be added in real time at short notice — an enormous added value for communication with fans on game day.

upshot

Since the introduction of the digital match flyer EISZEIT, EVZ fans have been experiencing a completely new type of matchday communication. The response has been extremely positive — particularly due to the interactive elements and easy accessibility on all devices.

The EVZ benefits from the environmentally friendly, cost-effective solution and can disseminate its content in a targeted and measurable way. The digital format also opens up new opportunities for sponsorship and fan interaction.

“By digitizing our game day program using Webmag, we not only provide our fans with up-to-date information, but also have the opportunity to integrate multimedia content such as videos and images and thus create more emotional content. Webmag enables us to dispense with the print version in the interests of sustainability and at the same time ensures more direct communication with our fans.”
